Looking forward...
Changes to the operations of OCBPC in the face of COVID-19 have been unusual and significant. In March 2020 we modified husbandry procedures to minimize the numbers of volunteers working to a bare minimum. We ceased all education and outreach programs and eliminated volunteer recruitment and training. In May 2020 we were informed that the site we had house our education and convalescing birds would be closing its doors and that we needed to move our operations immediately. We were in the process of planning to move to a new location within the next year, but this had now become urgent.
We are now at our permanent, forever home but since our timelines have shortened and our resources stretched, there's still much to be done. Donations in any amount will help us to finalize the new rehabilitation enclosures and our new Center facilities to best care for our birds.
