OCBPC welcomes Dan Goldbacher as
new Executive Director
Orange County, CA – September 26, 2024: The Board of the Orange County Bird of Prey Center (OCBPC) is pleased to announce that Dan Goldbacher has been hired as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective October 1. He will be taking over from Peggy Chase, who announced earlier this year that she would be stepping down as Executive Director. Peggy plans to continue working in education and outreach for the organization.
“We are very excited about the energy, vision, and leadership that Dan will be bringing in,” said Ross Gough, OCBPC Board Chair. “At the same time, we want to recognize the guidance and passion that Peggy has poured into this organization for the last three decades. We are grateful to her for positioning OCBPC for the next phase of growth.”
With a proven track record of leading large teams and managing fundraising initiatives, Dan has earned a stellar reputation throughout the Orange County community for his ability to create strong partnerships and implement innovative strategies that drive organizational growth. Dan most recently served as General Manager at Jewel of the Ortega in San Juan Capistrano. Prior to that, he was Director of Maritime Programs and Campus Facilities at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point.
“I am grateful and excited for the opportunity to help lead OCBPC into the future. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Peggy, the board, staff, and volunteers, we have a strong foundation to build upon,” said Dan. “The future is bright as we broaden our community outreach and expand our educational impact throughout Orange County and beyond. Our mission will guide us through this next phase as we work to enhance our reputation as a world-class center for raptor rehabilitation and education. With the passion and commitment of the OCBPC team, the sky is the limit for our future.”
Dan graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Geography: Environmental Planning.
